Mega Awards announced by the NITI Aayog
After the banning of higher currency notes Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000, government of India announces various polices and offers to drive the Indian citizens towards the cashless economy. In addition, to those measure taken by the government of India, the NITI (National Institution for Transforming India) Aayog recently announced its mega award scheme by which the consumers and merchants will be rewarded with cashes for doing online transactions.
Motive behind this Mega Awards
In financial crunch situation driving people towards the cashless transaction would be the only option to ease things, on accounting that fact the NITI Aayog recently announced this mega awards by which the buyers/consumers would be awarded with cash amounts on daily, weekly basis. The same will be applicable for Merchants/sellers too.
The main motive behind these announcing awards is to encourage the cashless transactions in-between the merchants and the buyers, by performing cashless economy the central government of India believes that the black economy would be controlled.

How it’s going to be implemented?
The NITI Aayog is about the offer the cash awards to the consumers and merchants via two different schemes.
- For offers cash awards to the consumers or buyers the NITI Aayog plans to utilize the Lucky Grahak Yojana. The awards are eligible for a consumer who performs even small transactions valued from Rs. 50 onwards to maximum of Rs.3000.
- Same transaction limits applicable for merchants too, this is to encourage merchant to undergo cashless transaction for small payments. However, the cash awards for Merchants are carried out under the scheme Digi-dhan Vyapari Yojana.
Both the schemes are organized and under governance by the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI).
Announced Cash Awards by NITI Aayog
The announcement came with the information offering cash awards on daily and weekly basis in between the time period of 25th of December 2016 to 14th of April 2017, for daily basis cash awards around 15,000 lucky winners will be awarded with Rs. 1000 daily under the Lucky Grahak Yojana.
Meanwhile, on the weekly basis cash awards around 7000 people will be receiving the price worth of Rs. 1, 00,000 on weekly under this Lucky Grahak Yojana. And the scheme last date of 14th April of 2017, the mega award of Rs. 1 Crore will be announced for the lucky winner.
Similarly, under the scheme of Digi-dhan Vyapari Yojana around 7,000 winning merchants will be receiving the price which will be worthy of Rs. 50,000.
Eligible Modes of Digital Payments
All the existing digital payment modes like UPI, AEPS, USSD and so are comes under this awards announced by the NITI Aayog. And the winner are selected based upon the random draw of the transaction ID’s which will be formed while performing digital transactions.
