Pradhan Mantri Yojana (PMAY) one of the dream scheme launched by the current Prime Minister Mr. Modi of this NDA government, the scheme has been launched a year ago on 2015. In literal, the scheme is known as the ‘Housing for all’ – scheme, by which all homeless people are able to receive affordable houses. The main motive behind this launch of the scheme is to reduce the poverty rate in the India, in fact facing poverty and the unemployment problem is the biggest thread by any developing nation all over the world, India too is not an exception.
Features of Pradhan Mantri Yojana (PMAY)
- In order to construct affordable houses for the poor homeless people across the nation, around 4041 cities and towns from various states has been selected to implement the PMAY housing scheme.
- Beneficiaries for this PMAY scheme will selected based on the family category like EWS (Economically Weaker Section), LIG (Low Income Group) or BPL (Below Poverty Line) classes.
- The eligible beneficiaries for the scheme PMAY will be able to get loan amount of 6Lakh for low interest rate which is below the 7% from all nationalized and other regional banks.
- The housing for all scheme – PMAY is set to introduce in all cities and towns across the nation on different phases, the entire scheme is set to complete by 2022 in 3 phases.
Implementation of Pradhan Mantri Yojana in Bihar
Bihar one of the state from the part of East India, which shares its border with the neighbor country Nepal, keeping the city Patna as its state’s capital the state of Bihar as more than 99 Million population as per the census report.
As the PM’s Awas Yojana was about to implement all over the states of India, the ‘Housing of all’ – Scheme has already started in the state of Bihar in its capital town Patna. It is estimated that around 4.7 Lakh families will be added as the beneficiaries under this PMAY and they will be able to get affordable houses under this PMAY scheme.
According the sources, it is came to know that the estimated total number of beneficiaries is about 4.7 Lakh poor families from the state of Bihar would be able to receive affordable houses by the end of the March 2017. The list has been selected based on the census report generated in 2011.
The list has been sent to the relevant department of PMAY on the last October of 2016, by which the beneficiary list was selected, the news has been confirmed by the announcement came from the state rural development minister Mr. Sharvan kumar.
