Key Features of TET Exam

  1. Supervised by HPBOSE – The examination will be organized and conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education. From scrutiny of applications to conduction interview sessions, all activities will be monitored by this department.
  2. Mandatory for school teachers – Though TET certification enhances the chances of bagging a job in a reputed private school, it is mandatory for all those teachers who desire to teach in schools, operated by HP state government.
  3. Multiple subjects – Applicants who are interested in teaching Urdu, Punjabi, Arts, Medical subjects, Non-medical and Language subjects will have to opt for this certificate.
  4. Separate application for different subjects – An applicant can apply for more than one subject. For that, he/she has to register separately.

Eligibility Criteria for Application

  1. Residential criterion – As this TET examination will be organized by the state authority of Himachal Pradesh, only those applicants who are residents of this region will be able to register. They must have necessary residential papers.
  2. Age related criterion – All applicants need to be at least 18 years of age to enroll for this examination.
  3. TGT (Arts) requirement – Applicants interested in teaching this subject must have completed their graduation in arts or commerce disciplines. They also need to possess B.Ed degree.
  4. TGT (Non-medical) requirement – Applicants interested in teaching in this line need to possess a graduation degree in Science non-medical discipline, along with a degree in B.ed.
  5. TGT (Medical) requirement – These applicants must have passed their graduation in science medical stream along with a degree in B.Ed is
  6. Requirement for urdu teachers – In case an applicant desires to teach Urdu in government schools in the state, he/she must possess a diploma or graduation degree in Elementary education.
  7. Requirement for language teachers – If an applicant is interested in teaching Hindi in government schools, he/she should have a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Elementary education.

How to Get Online HP TET Application Form?

Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education announced that all applicants will have to complete their enrollment procedures online. There will not be any offline enrollment procedure this year. Thus, interested parties will have to log on to the authorized site and acquire access to digitized application form. For this, all candidates need to log on to http://hpbose.org/.

How to Apply For HP TET Exam 2018?

  1. Interested candidates have to complete enrollment online. For this, state education department has already activated its official web portal. Applicants have to click on http://hpbose.org/ to start the online registration process.
  2. When the home page opens, candidates must click on the link that is marked as “TET-2018”. In order to bypass this step, applicants need to click on the link http://hpbose.org/OnlineServices/CET/TET/Instructions.aspx.
  3. Reading the details, mentioned in this page is a must. It will ensure that Interested candidates have to complete enrollment online. For this, state education department has already activated its official web portal. Applicants have to click on applicants follow registration steps one after the other and refrain from making any mistakes.
  4. After reading the instructions, applicants need to click on the link that is marked as “Register”
  5. It will trigger this site to generate the portal based enrollment form.
  6. Applicants need to type in their personal and qualification details in these boxes. In some boxes, candidates need to pick correct options from the drop down list.
  7. After completing this step, candidates have to save the application by clicking on the “Save” button.
  8. On successful submission of this enrollment form, this site will generate a registration ID. This code must be used to log on to the authorized portal in future.
  9. After this, applicants need to log in with the registration numbers and complete pending enrollment procedures.
  10. As this process is completely digitized, candidates need to upload scanned copies of all necessary documents and their passport sized photographs. The size of the scanned photograph must not be more than 15KB to 20 KB
  11. A scanned sample of the applicant’s signature needs to be uploaded as well. Its size must vary between 10 KB and 15 KB.
  12. If any corrections are to be made in the application, then that must be done before making the online payment. Once online payment is complete, applicants will not be able to make any changes
  13. Payment of examination fee needs to be made online as well. For that, applicants can use net banking facility or debit/credit cards. This will end the registration procedure.

How to Get the Admit Card?

Like all examinations, Himachal Pradesh TET authority will also issue admit cards for all applicants. It is a vital document, and no applicant will be allowed to sit in the examination hall and take the test if they fail to bring this admit card. This pass will contain all details of the applicant, and examination center guards will check these details. Admit cards will be issued and uploaded on the official site only five days before the actual exam date. All applicants need to download the admit card from here. Applicants will be able to access their admit cards by typing in registration code, name and birth date.

HP TET 2018 Syllabus and Pattern

  1. Himachal Pradesh TET examination for 2018 will be conducted in two parts: Paper I and Paper II
  2. Paper I consists of 150 questions in all. Total time, allotted for applicants, to complete this paper is one hour and thirty minutes only. This question paper will be divided into five sections. Candidates will have to answer questions related to Child Development and Pedagogy, Mathematics Language I, Language II, and Environmental Studies. In each of these five sections, applicants will have to answer 30 questions. For every correct answer, candidates will get 1 mark.
  3. Paper II also consists of 150 questions. All these questions will come with answer options. Candidates will have to pick the right answer and identify it. Paper II is subdivided in four separate sections. While primary three parts have 30 questions each, the last part has a total of 60 questions. First three sections are mandatory for all applicants. These are related to Child Development and Pedagogy and Language I & II. The last section offers a choice between arithmetic, social science or science.
