The Jai Jawan Awas Yojana is an initiative to help the army personal and the widowed wife of the deceased army personals by providing them housing facilities. Foundation of Jai Jawan Awas Yojana (JJAY)
The Chief of Army Staff and the Chief Minister of Haryana jointly laid foundation to this project. It is a memorial project named after a late army personal. After laying the foundation of this project, the Chief Minister of Haryana ensured the people conducting Veterans Rally that the houses constructed under this project will be provided to them at an affordable rate. The Chief of Army Staff also declared that the Chief Minister has already given permission to a similar dwelling project in Karnal. He ensured that the land was also given. Thus, the foundation of the project, Jai Jawan Awas Yojana (JJAY) was very successful and it was appreciated by a lot of people and most of them mentioned that it was a noble deed.
There were other activities conducted at the event also. Different stalls were put up at the venue of the event which accommodated to the needs of the ‘Veer Senanis.’ This was actually a place for the veterans to address their issues. They addressed their issues to a joint forum of Indian Army and Civil Agencies. There was also a medical camp which saw the contribution of lots of medical specialists at the event.

The Plan for Haryana
The Army Welfare Housing Association will build 500 dwelling units for the veterans in Haryana. Earlier, they planned that they would construct 400 dwelling units. But then they decided that they would construct 500 units. Also, at Sonepat, an education complex will be set up which was announced during the event of foundation of JJAY. For setting up the education complex, the Haryana government will provide land. Also it was mentioned that, along with these projects, more welfare projects are being planned by the government. It is very glad to observe the caring nature of the Haryana Government. They are setting up lots of projects for the welfare of their citizens.

How to apply for Jai Jawan Awas Yojana
The army officers must fill in an application form to apply for the Jai Jawan Awas Yojana program. Army Welfare Housing Association’s master pamphlet will provide this form. But to apply for this program, one will be obliged to get access to the brochure. For getting the access to the brochure, one must send a demand draft of Rs. 100 at New Delhi in favor of MD AWHO. The form is also available in all of the project offices. One needs to pay cash payment of Rs. 50 to collect the form from a project office.
