Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana and Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana are the two most prominent schemes that are launched to provide medical treatments to citizens of the state Chhattisgarh. RSBY, led by central government and MSBY, led by state government both of them are providing curative medical help at free of cost. In recent time MSBY was launched in Chhattisgarh while RSBY is already in action in the state.

Launch Details

The MSBY was announced during the month of October in the year 2017 after 3 months of launching of RSBY in the state (July 2017). The scheme MSBY will be launched officially on 15th Nov 017 and will start implementing from 28th Dec 17. State government of Chhattisgarh will increase the coverage. The effective date of this increment will be 1st of Oct 17.

Key Features

  • Objective: RSBY and MSBY both have a common aim. The most important objective of both the schemes is to provide free health checkups and treatments to the citizens of the state. Those who are unable to go for any treatment due to financial restrictions will get monetary help from the state government under both the schemes.
  • Financial Help: RSBY offering Rs. 30, 000/- coverage for the family members in a year. MSBY is a similar yojana on the state level. Under MSBY worth of Rs. 50, 000/- benefits are being provided. Also there is special treatment packages and additional coverage of Rs. 30, 000/- is available as well.
  • Floater Scheme: Each family will get Rs. 50,000/- per year under MSBY and Rs. 30, 000/- under RSBY. Maximum number of members in each family must not be more than 5. This will be done through floater system for each member.
  • Benefits: There are three types of financial benefits available under this scheme. Rs. 50,000/- will be provided as coverage under the scheme, Rs. 2 Lac will be provided for the special treatments such as cancer and finally Rs. 30, 000/- will be available for the additional coverage in a year. All these benefits will be available without spending a bit of money. All the citizens can enjoy these benefits with Health Smart Card under these schemes.
  • Beneficiaries: Around 57 Lac families that are enlisted under National Food Security Act will get benefited from MSBY scheme. Until 9th October 2017 approximately more than 55 Lac Smart Health Cards have been issued. More will be issued once the MSBY starts implementing.
  • Hospitals and Nursing homes: As these two schemes are public schemes, all the public hospitals will have the facilities provided by the schemes. Also CM of Chhattisgarh has stated that some of the leading nursing homes will also be listed to serve the treatment. All of the supervision will be done through high tech software. They will be installed in the hospitals and nursing homes soon.

Eligibility

Anyone who is a citizen of Chhattisgarh is eligible for the scheme. However those who are unable to take up any treatment for severe or regular medical issues are the main beneficiaries under these schemes.

Hospital List under this scheme

There are 534 private hospitals are enlisted under these schemes. Compare to private hospitals only 348 government hospitals are there to offer free treatment under the scheme. Packages

Under both the scheme a number of special packages are provided. Packages include surgical, special treatment and so on. Difference between Both the Schemes

Both the schemes RSBY and MSBY are similar. However there is some dissimilarity that makes them different from each other. Firstly while RSBY is led by Central Government, MSBY is managed by the state government. Some of the decisions under RSBY will solely be taken by the central government, not state government.

On the other the coverage provided under RSBY is still Rs. 30, 000/- per person in a year whereas the amount is Rs. 50, 000/- under MSBY scheme in Chhattisgarh. Once the coverage has increased the premium also expected to increase from Rs. 700/- to Rs. 750/- for MSBY.

Free Medical Treatment of Rs 80 Thousand for elderly in Chhattisgarh under the scheme

Chhattisgarh state government has announced provisions for Rs 80,000 worth treatments for free to the senior citizens. The new initiative will be offered to the senior citizens under the Insurance scheme termed as Mukhya Mantri Swasthya Beema Yojana.

Key Features

  • For effective implementation of the scheme the state government has ensured benefit to be offered to the senior citizens via health card services.
  • The government will also ensure financial assistance equivalent to Rs 80,000 to each beneficiary registered under this scheme via insurance plan.
  • The new scheme has been introduced by the state government with an aim to help elderly people within the state and to maintain their best health.
  • The government shall provide hut facilities in over 100 different places with access to radio sets, TV, newspapers, table, coolers and chairs. Free medical care facilities will be available for senior citizens in these huts.
