Key features of the pension scheme

  1. Benefit for poor families – The Andhra Pradesh government has launched this wedding welfare scheme for those families, who lack the financial strength to organize their daughter’s wedding function.
  2. Offering social security – The main agenda for the welfare scheme is to pave the path for the much needed financial and social security for the poor and backward caste families.
  3. Financial assistance for brides – Under the scheme, the beneficiary brides will acquire one-time monetary assistance from the state government.
  4. Grant amount for ST/SC brides – If the ST and SC brides are marrying within the same caste, then they will acquire Rs. 1 lakh. The grant amount will be increased to Rs. 1.25 lakhs if she is having an inter-caste marriage.
  5. Grant amount for OBC brides – The OBC beneficiaries will attain Rs. 50,000 from the Andhra Pradesh government, if case the marriage is taking place within the same caste. In case of an inter-caste marriage, the grant amount will be Rs. 75,000.
  6. Grant for physically handicap brides – If the future bride is suffering from any physical handicap, then she will be entitled to receive a monetary grant of Rs. 1.5 lakhs from the Andhra Pradesh government.
  7. Grant for construction workers’ daughters – Apart from the above mentioned schemes, the constructions workers will also attain grant, amounting to Rs. 1 lakhs, when their daughters are to be married.

Details about the eligibility requirements

  1. Only for legal residents – If the bride is a legal and permanent inhabitants of the state, only then will she be allowed to receive the scheme perks.
  2. Bridal application – The state government has given the power in the hands of the brides. Only applications, submitted from the bride will be accepted.
  3. Age of bride and groom – Both the bride and the groom must have attained the legal age to get married. In case the age of the groom is less than 21 years, and the bride is yet to attain 18 years, the applicant’s name will be scratched from the scheme.
  4. Caste requirement – The implementation of this welfare project will be taken forward by the Andhra Pradesh government to offer financial assistance to the brides, who belong to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward communities.
  5. Physically handicap brides – The scheme draft highlights that special reservations has been set aside for those brides, who are suffering from permanent or temporary physical disability.
  6. Income requirement – The Chief Minister has announced that the respective department will soon set the maximum income limit for the families. If the bride’s parents earn more than the set amount, she will be barred from acquiring the scheme perks.

Details about the necessary documents

  1. Residential documents – The submission of the documents, which support the claims of permanent and legal inhabitancy, by the applicant, is mandatory for the validation of the registration form.
  2. Aadhar Card – The state government has mentioned in the scheme draft that the applicants need to submit a copy of their Aadhar Cards.
  3. Physical handicap certificate – If the future bride has any physical complications and challenges, then a disability certificate must be submitted. The health certificate must be issued by the head of a state run hospital.
  4. Caste certificate – The applicant must not forget to attach a copy of the official caste certificate that has been issued by the respective state government department. In the absence of this document, the enrollment will be cancelled.
  5. Income certificate – The candidate needs to go to the Gram Panchayat office or the Municipal office, and acquire an authorized family income certificate. The document must highlight the annual income of the parents of the bride.
